Apple Season Delights

In case you're thinking of visiting Rose Hill Farm this weekend, we wanted to send along a quick update about the picking season. Despite the spring frost damage and dry summer throughout the Hudson Valley, we were lucky enough to have a relatively good season with plenty of apples. However, we have noticed an increase of foot traffic over the past two weekends likely because some other orchards are already closed for picking. As such, we have limited quantities of apples remaining for picking!  That aside, the fall foliage is at its peak and you are welcome to enjoy our walking trails and picnic areas.

As for apple picking, there are small quantities of Granny Smith, Empire, Golden Delicious, Red Delicious, Fuji, and Gold Rush varieties available.  Please expect longer, albeit lovely and scenic walks to find apples.  We expect availability to decline over this weekend (10/22 & 10/23) as remaining apples are harvested.  We recommend visiting earlier in the weekend for best picking conditions. Please call (845.758.4215) or e-mail (info@pickrosehillfarm.com) ahead if you have any questions! Pre-picked apples are also available at our farm stand and we will have our pumpkin patch open this weekend! We offer hot cider and coffee, as well as a variety of baked goods including cider donuts, warm apple crisps and warm pumpkin crisps.

We look forward to seeing you at Rose Hill Farm!
